As the highlight of the event, Yutong launched its industry-leading new energy technology—YEA—for the first time in the Asia-Pacific region. With a focus on technological innovation, Yutong is driving the global commercial vehicle industry towards a more sustainable future. This launch marks a new chapter in the development of green transportation across the region.
Technology Expansion: Yutong Breaks New Ground in the Asia-Pacific Market
On the morning of September 17, The National Bus & Coach Show in Brisbane kicked off, providing a crucial platform for exhibitors and attendees to network, learn, and collaborate. Yutong showcased several new energy models at the event, including the E7S, E12, C12E, and D7E, highlighting their commitment to sustainable transport.
As night fell, the much-anticipated Yutong Asia-Pacific YEA Launch Ceremony commenced. The C12E, a key model of the YEA platform, took the spotlight, showcasing its strengths in long-distance travel and efficiency. Supported by the YEA platform's intelligent management system, the C12E significantly improves stability and safety, offering a new solution for the future of green transportation.
During the event, Chang Hao, Yutong's General Manager for the Asia-Pacific region, stated, "From 'product export' to 'technology export,' Yutong's overseas strategy is driving the advancement of electric commercial vehicles. The YEA technology will help various regions achieve their goals, facilitating the green transformation of local transport systems." The YEA platform directly addresses key challenges in the commercial vehicle sector, including range limitations, low operational efficiency, power shortages, and the high total ownership costs compared to traditional fuel vehicles.
Chang Hao, General Manager of Yutong Buses Asia-Pacific Region
Yutong presented various new energy buses at the series of events, designed to meet the needs of long-distance travel. Models like the C12E and E12 integrate advanced battery technology with smart control systems, enhancing range and reducing energy consumption and maintenance costs. Additionally, Yutong launched the 2024 E7S electric minibus, already operational in Europe and the Middle East, now entering the Asia-Pacific market to offer a tailored solution for urban micro-circulation. This vehicle is ideal for navigating narrow city streets and crowded areas, connecting the "last mile" of urban transport.
With over 20 years of expertise in new energy, Yutong is making waves worldwide through its YEA platform and a suite of new energy products, injecting fresh momentum into the Asia-Pacific region’s green development and accelerating the global transition towards sustainability.
Deepening Partnerships: Leading the Green Mobility Transformation in the Asia-Pacific
Yutong's "Eco-Thought, Green Mobility" theme emphasized their global commitment to sustainable transportation. Chang Hao remarked, "The Asia-Pacific region is a cornerstone of global stability and collaboration. We not only export new energy buses but also leverage our technological and industrial strengths to foster local partnerships across various countries and regions."
Since entering the Asia-Pacific market, Yutong has established an extensive business network in regions like Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, and Hong Kong, working closely with local partners to promote the adoption of green transport. Yutong adapts its product offerings to meet the diverse needs of each market, providing solutions for public transport, tourism, and school buses.
Yutong has progressively deepened its presence in Australia, evolving from vehicle exports to strategic local partnerships. A notable achievement is the local assembly of the E12 model in Australia through DKD (Disassembled Knock Down) production. Additionally, Yutong collaborated with Volgren, a renowned local bus body manufacturer, to introduce a new electric bus at The National Bus & Coach Show, showcasing Yutong's strength in local innovation and industry integration.
Following the launch, Yutong hosted a Green Mobility Week in Brisbane, inviting residents to participate in recycling activities and enjoy Yutong's new energy buses while exploring iconic landmarks. This initiative aimed to convey Yutong's vision of "using cutting-edge technology to bring green transportation to every corner of the world" directly to local users.
Yutong Bus awarded the "Zero Carbon Enterprise" Environmental Public Welfare Certificate by the Brisbane City Government, Australia Women and Children Protection and Development Inc., and One Square Meter of Sunshine Yutong's commitment to sustainability extends beyond local markets, aligning with Brisbane's 2032 sustainability plan and efforts to improve urban public transportation. As of now, Yutong has delivered over 200,000 new energy commercial vehicles globally, with a total travel mileage of 44 billion kilometers, equivalent to planting 140,000 hectares of forest.
With a focus on core new energy technologies, Yutong accelerates its global strategy, bringing "Chinese technology" and "Chinese standards" to markets worldwide.
